1. Wollomombi Falls - highest falls in eastern Australia with the Wollomombi River falling 240 metres into the gorge

2. Ponds Creek Station - enjoy morning tea while you listen to some bush poetry and look at some of the areas farming heritage.

3. Point Lookout - view the rainforest and eastern fall country from the great viewing areas at Point Lookout. On a clear day the coast is visible.

4. Explore the National Park - after enjoying your lunch hamper in the beautiful surrounds of the New England National Park, learn more about the park and its significance with a short guided walk.

5. Hillgrove - Visit the Rural Life and Industry Museum and see some of the great history of the area and its establishment. Enjoy afternoon tea in the historical surrounds of the Hillgrove village.

6. Bakers Creek Falls - These falls provide great opportunity to take photos as the sun falls on your day, before you head back to Armidale to enjoy your evening discussing the highlights of this great day trip.

CERRA - Central Eastern Rainforest Reserves of Australia

The New England National Park and surrounding parks for part of the CERRA. The CERRA property is actually composed of a series of 8 distinct groupings of parks and reserves distributed between Newcastle and Brisbane, united by the common story they tell of Australia's unique and evolving rainforests.

This property is situated predominantly along the Great Escarpment on Australia's east coast. The outstanding geological features displayed around shield volcanic craters and the high number of rare and threatened rainforest species are of international significance for science and conservation.
